A Talk by Daina Taimina on Crocheting Hyperbolic Planes
Hosted by Harpur Edge
I was born in Riga, Latvia where I also received all my formal education. My graduate work was in Theoretical Computer Science but for various reasons I did not continue much research in that direction after completing my PhD thesis. I was teaching in University in Latvia for 20 years until in late 1996 I came to Ithaca and started teaching various math classes at Cornell University from which I retired in 2015.
